I have played golf since I was a young child. My dad introduced me to the game. I fell in love instantly. After spending two years at the University of Arkansas, I decided to make teaching golf my full-time career and graduated from the Professional Golfers Career College in California. The connections I made there took me to Maui, Hawaii where I served on the tournament committee for the PGA Tour's Tournament of Champions. I have also had the pleasure of serving as Head Professional at Apple Valley CC in California as well as a junior instructor at the Rick McCord Golf Academy in Orlando. I want to give juniors the opportunities that these cities have with junior golf.
It has always been a dream of mine to teach children. I feel that golf is often overlooked by parents when indeed it is the perfect game for most children. It teaches discipline, honesty and hard work. It is a great game. It also presents great opportunity. Thousands of full college golf scholarships go unused every year.
My wife has been in the television industry for close to 20 years and recently ended a 14-year run with Golf Channel. She also grew up in the area, playing golf along the way. She is currently teaching broadcasting at Ravenwood High School and coaches youth basketball.
We have been blessed beyond belief for the opportunity to open this Academy in the Middle Tennessee area. We hope to see you soon!
